President Panuelo Receives President Heine, Discusses Upcoming Visit by Secretary Pompeo & Compact of Free Association
PALIKIR, Pohnpei—On July 27th 2019 His Excellency David W. Panuelo, President of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), received Her Excellency Dr. Hilda C. Heine, President of the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) in a courtesy call. President Heine was visiting the FSM to attend the Joint National Inauguration Ceremony.
The discussion between President Panuelo and President Heine was brief, but covered several topics: the outcomes of the 24th Micronesian Islands Forum, the activities for the Joint National Inauguration Ceremony, the upcoming visit by the Honorable Michael Pompeo, Secretary of the U.S. Department of State, and the United Nations’ General Assembly in September.
The FSM and the RMI, as members of the Micronesian family, share an impenetrable bond. The FSM National Government extends its appreciation to President Heine for attending the Joint National Inauguration Ceremony, and to the people and Government of the RMI for their ongoing commitment to our shared values.
