Citizens of the FSM: You Are Invited to the 33rd FSM Independence Day Celebrations
PALIKIR, Pohnpei—The Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) has its 33rd Anniversary of Independence on Sunday, November 3rd 2019 and the FSM National Government is formally celebrating 33 years of Independence starting at 9:00am on Monday, November 4th 2019 at the Kolonia Gymnasium across from Spanish Wall in the FSM State of Pohnpei. All citizens and residents—including all traditional, national, state, and municipal leaders, and members of the diplomatic corps—are invited to attend. For those who are unable to attend in person the FSM National Government, in partnership with Pohnpei V6AH Radio and FSM Telecommunications Corporation, will be livestreaming the event.

The program for the celebration includes an address from His Excellency David W. Panuelo, President of the FSM, an address from one of the Nation’s founding fathers—the Honorable Bethwel Henry, the first Speaker of the Congress of the FSM—an address from the Honorable Wesley W. Simina, Speaker of the 21st Congress of the FSM (or his designated representative), and an address from a representative of the Nation’s youth.
Also included in the program are a variety of foods and entertainment options.
