President Panuelo Administers Oath of Office to Marion Henry, Joses R. Gallen, & Ricky F. Cantero
PALIKIR, Pohnpei—On December 6th, 2019 His Excellency David W. Panuelo, President of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), administered the Oath of Office ceremony for the Honorable Marion Henry, Secretary of the Department of Resources & Development, the Honorable Joses R. Gallen, Secretary of the Department of Justice, and the Honorable Ricky F. Cantero, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
“Do you, [Marion Henry/Joses R. Gallen/Ricky F. Cantero], solemnly swear that you will faithfully execute the duties and responsibilities of the office to which you have been appointed, and will, to the best of your ability, uphold, promote, and support the laws and Constitution of the Federated States of Micronesia, so help you God?” said President Panuelo.
“I do,” said Secretary Henry.
“I do,” said Secretary Gallen.
“I do,” said Deputy Secretary Cantero.
In his remarks, Secretary Henry said “Thank you Mr. President for nominating us and having the confidence for us to serve in your administration.”
In his remarks, Secretary Gallen said “On behalf of my small family, we would like to thank you very much for your confidence in the appointment for me to serve you and serve the people of the Nation in this pwukoah, in this duty to enforce the law and especially the Constitution.”
In his remarks, Deputy Cantero said “Mr. President, thank you so much for giving me a chance to serve the people of our country through the Department of Foreign Affairs…what I can assure you is that I will do my very best to provide pure public service to our people, based on…honor, principal, and integrity. …In my view, you can never go wrong by always doing the right thing. I will try my best to maintain that standard and bring honor to you and to our country.”
