Unofficial List of Candidates for March 2nd, 2021 Congressional Election
PALIKIR, Pohnpei—On November 4th, 2020, the Federated States of Micronesia’s (FSM) Office of the National Election Director, per the request of His Excellency David W. Panuelo, President of the FSM, submitted the unofficial list of candidates for the March 2nd, 2021 Congressional Election. The list of candidates below is sourced from the formal memo from the Office of the National Election Director to the Office of the President, which notes that the listing is at this time still unofficial and pending verification and clearance from the FSM Supreme Court, among others. For informational purposes, the provisional candidates are listed below. The Office of the President will disseminate a new Press Release when the candidates are official.
The March 2nd, 2021 Congressional Election will determine who sits as a Senator in the Nation’s ten (10) two-year seats. The four contemporary at-large Senators serving four-year terms will remain participants in the 22nd FSM Congress.
For the State of Yap, the only candidate running for the two-year seat is the Honorable Isaac V. Figir.
For the State of Chuuk’s Election District 1, the only candidate running for the two-year seat is the Honorable Florencio Singkoro Harper.
For the State of Chuuk’s Election District 2, the candidates are the Honorable Johnson Elimo and the Honorable Victor Vicky Gouland.
For the State of Chuuk’s Election District 3, the only candidate running for the two-year seat is the Honorable Derensio S. Konman.
For the State of Chuuk’s Election District 4, the candidates are the Honorable Peter Nimwes and the Honorable Tiwiter Aritos.
For the State of Chuuk’s Election District 5, the candidates are the Honorable Robson U. Romolow and the Honorable Ruphin Micky.
For the State of Pohnpei’s Election District 1, the candidates are the Honorable Ausen T. Lambert and the Honorable Ferny S. Perman.
For the State of Pohnpei’s Election District 2, the candidates are the Honorable Berney Martin, the Honorable Dion G. Neth, and the Honorable Quincy Lawrence.
For the State of Pohnpei’s Election District 3, the candidates are the Honorable Erick Paul, the Honorable Esmond B. Moses, the Honorable Jose Joab, and the Honorable Marstella E. Jack.
For the State of Kosrae, the candidates are the Honorable Johnson A. Asher and the Honorable Paliknoa K. Welly.
