UNOFFICIAL Results of the March 2021 FSM Congressional Election

 

PALIKIR, Pohnpei—In a letter dated March 3rd and received by His Excellency David W. Panuelo, President of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), on March 4th, 2021, the Acting Director of the FSM National Election Office, Mr. Ioanis Sahm, sent the unofficial results for the March 2nd, 2021 FSM Congressional Election. Although absentee ballots will continue to be counted until close of business on March 16th, 2021, and by extension official results will be available soon after in a subsequent public information release, President Panuelo has instructed that the unofficial results become part of the public record as soon as possible.

 

The March 2nd, 2021 Congressional Election saw candidates seeking to fill the ten (10) two-year seats, proportioned by population, across the Nation. The four (4) at-large Senators will retain their seats for the forthcoming 22nd FSM Congress.

 

All results below are unofficial. The official results will be disseminated in a follow-up release when available.

 

For the State of Yap’s Election District, candidate Isaac V. Figir ran unopposed and received 2,275 votes.

 

For the State of Chuuk’s Election District 1 (Mortlocks Region), candidate Florencio S. Harper ran unopposed and received 1,819 votes.

 

For the State of Chuuk’s Election District 2 (Northern Namoneas Region), candidate Johnson S. Elimo received 1,031 votes; candidate Victor V. Gouland received 2,719 votes.

 

For the State of Chuuk’s Election District 3 (Southern Namoneas Region), candidate Derensio S. Konman ran unopposed and received 2,847 votes.

 

For the State of Chuuk’s Election District 4 (Faichuuk Region), candidate Tiwiter Aritos ran unopposed and received 2,715 votes.

 

For the State of Chuuk’s Election District 5 (Northwest Region), candidate Robson U. Romolow received 1,040 votes; candidate Ruphin Micky received 583 votes.

 

For the State of Pohnpei’s Election District 1 (Kolonia/Sokehs/Southern Islands), candidate Ausen T. Lambert received 2,102 votes; candidate Ferny S. Perman received 2,238 votes.

 

For the State of Pohnpei’s Election District 2 (Kitti/Madolenihmw), candidate Berney Martin received 928 votes; candidate Dion G. Neth received 1,942 votes; and candidate Quincy Lawrence received 1,589 votes.

 

For the State of Pohnpei’s Election District 3 (Nett/U/Eastern Islands), candidate Erick Paul received 1,244 votes; candidate Esmond B. Moses received 1,680 votes; candidate Jose Joab received 469 votes; and candidate Marstella E. Jack received 303 votes.

 

For the State of Kosrae’s Election District, candidate Johnson Asher received 1,294 votes; candidate Paliknoa Welly received 1,739 votes.

 

These results are unofficial. Absentee ballots received on or before 5:00pm on March 16th, 2021 will still be counted. The Office of the President’s Division of Public Information will transmit official results soon after they become available.
