Former President Emanuel “Manny” Mori Nominated by President Panuelo, Unanimously Confirmed by FSM Congress, to Serve on Joint Trust Fund Committee
PALIKIR, Pohnpei—Former President of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Emanuel “Manny” Mori, has been nominated by His Excellency David W. Panuelo, President of the FSM, and unanimously confirmed by the FSM Congress, to serve on the Joint Trust Fund Committee between the FSM National Government and the Government of the United States of America. The Joint Trust Fund Committee manages and administers the operation, supervision, and management of the Trust Fund for the People of the FSM (i.e. the Compact Trust Fund).
Former President Mori will serve alongside the Honorable Eugene Amor, Secretary of the Department of Finance & Administration, in representing the People and Government of the FSM on the Joint Trust Fund Committee.
“I extend my sincerest appreciation to the FSM Congress for unanimously consenting to my nomination of former President Mori to the Joint Trust Fund Committee, and express my deepest congratulations to my dear friend for accepting this important role,” President Panuelo said in a statement. “President Mori has long served the Nation and its citizens, and has done so with honor and dignity. All citizens of our Nation, from Yap and Chuuk to Pohnpei and Kosrae, can rest very easy knowing that President Mori will be representing us all on the Joint Trust Fund Committee.”
