President Panuelo Administers the Oath of Office to Andrew Yatilman & Wilson Waguk

NADI, Fiji—Late in the evening on August 16th 2019, shortly after the delegation of the Federated States of Micronesia left the Republic of Tuvalu and the 50th Pacific Islands Forum, the Honorable Andrew R. Yatilman and the Honorable Wilson Waguk took the Oath of Office for their roles as the Secretary of the Department of Environment, Climate Change, and Emergency Management (DECEM) and the Deputy Chief of Mission to the FSM Embassy in Fiji respectively.

“Do you [Andrew Yatilman/Wilson Waguk] solemnly swear that you will faithfully execute the duties and responsibilities of the office you have been appointed, and will, to the best of your ability to uphold, promote, and support the laws of the Constitution of the Federated States of Micronesia, so help you God?” said His Excellency David W. Panuelo.

“I do,” Mr. Waguk said.

“I do,” Mr. Yatilman said.

“Mr. President, it is an honor to serve you and the people of the Federated States of Micronesia here in our Embassy in Fiji,” Deputy Chief of Mission Waguk said after taking his oath.

“Mr. President,” said Secretary Yatilman. “I am…just very honored for your confidence in me. All I can promise you and the people of the Federated States of Micronesia is to help your administration and the people as I fulfill the role of the Secretary of [DECEM]. I will do my best as I always do. Thank you again.”

The FSM National Government has trust and confidence that Secretary Yatilman and Deputy Chief of Mission Waguk will faithfully execute the duties they have sworn to implement, and congratulates them as they continue their service to the people and Government of the FSM.
