The Federated States of Micronesia Extends its Farewells and Best Wishes to Dr. Eunyoung Ko of the World Health Organization
PALIKIR, Pohnpei—On February 26th, 2021, His Excellency David W. Panuelo—President of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM)—received Dr. Eunyoung Ko, the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Country Liaison Officer to the FSM. The purpose of the meeting was for President Panuelo to formally bid farewell to Dr. Ko after her four-year tour of service to the Nation was completed.
President Panuelo congratulated Dr. Ko for her four years of service to the FSM, and praised her many accomplishments towards assisting the Nation’s vision for quality public health programming.
“The people and Government of the FSM are indebted to your kind and exemplary service to our Nation,” President Panuelo said. “We will miss your insightful commentary, your resourcefulness, your keenness to provide technical assistance, and your encyclopedic knowledge of seemingly anything related to public health, disease prevention, and treatment protocols.”
Dr. Ko noted her appreciation to the FSM National Government for its attention to its citizens’ health and wellbeing. The good doctor noted that her counterpart will be happy to enter the FSM once doing so becomes feasible.
Dr. Ko’s next post will be in the Republic of Vanuatu. It is the opinion of the FSM National Government that the people and Government of Vanuatu will find themselves awestruck by Dr. Ko’s impartial guidance, imitable compassion, impressive insight, indubitable intellect, and incontestable devotion to public service and public health. Thank you, Dr. Ko, for your service to the people and Government of the FSM.
