PALIKIR, Pohnpei – November 19, 2025 – His Excellency Wesley W. Simina, President of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), has received the certified results of the November 12, 2025 Special Election. Mr. Andrew R. Yatilman has been officially declared the Senator-elect for the four-year term seat in the Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia, representing the State of Yap.

Senator-elect Yatilman has served the Nation with distinction since 2007 as the head of the national agency responsible for environmental policy and disaster management—now the Department of Environment, Climate Change & Emergency Management (DECEM).

Senator-elect Yatilman will be formally seated in accordance with congressional procedures. The Office of the President will announce the seating date once confirmation is received from Congress at a later date.
