President Simina Administers Oath of Office to Appointees

WENO, Chuuk — February 2, 2026 — His Excellency Wesley W. Simina, President of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), administered the oath of office to two appointees during a ceremony held at the Chuuk State Office of the Governor Auditorium.

Mr. Etop Malone was sworn in as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Micronesia Health Insurance Corporation (MiCare), and Mr. Roger Arnold was sworn in as a Member of the Board of Regents of the College of Micronesia–FSM, both representing the State of Chuuk.

The ceremony was attended by the Honorable Mekioshy William, Lieutenant Governor of Chuuk State, along with national and state government officials, as well as family members who joined in support of the appointees.

In administering the oath, President Simina emphasized its significance as a formal and constitutional commitment to faithfully discharge the duties of office and to serve the people of the Federated States of Micronesia with integrity and accountability. He underscored the responsibility entrusted to board members in supporting effective governance and strengthening national institutions.

President Simina congratulated the appointees and highlighted the importance of their roles in advancing national priorities, particularly in the areas of health care delivery and higher education. He encouraged them to carry out their responsibilities with dedication and a strong commitment to public service.

The Office of the President extends its best wishes to Mr. Malone and Mr. Arnold as they assume their duties in service to the Federated States of Micronesia.
