
TOFOL, Kosrae — February 19, 2026 — His Excellency Wesley W. Simina, President of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), administered the Oath of Office to two distinguished appointees from Kosrae State during a ceremony held in Kosrae.
Sworn in were Lt. Governor of Kosrae, the Honorable Arthy G. Nena, appointed to serve as Board Member of the Board of Directors of MiCare, and Mr. Steven L. George, appointed to the Board of Regents of the College of Micronesia-FSM.
Delivering remarks on behalf of the Simina-Palik administration, the Honorable Aren B. Palik, Vice President of the FSM, congratulated the appointees and underscored the significant responsibilities entrusted to them. He emphasized that strong leadership in healthcare and education remains central to safeguarding the well-being of FSM citizens and advancing the nation’s long-term development goals. The Vice President expressed confidence that both appointees would faithfully discharge their duties and serve with the highest standards of accountability and public service.
The Honorable Tulensa W. Palik, Governor of Kosrae State, also delivered remarks, congratulating the appointees and expressing full confidence in their ability to represent Kosrae and serve the nation with dedication. The Governor encouraged both nominees to carry out their mandates with integrity and diligence and acknowledged President Simina for his continued trust in Kosrae’s leaders and for strengthening collaboration between the National and State Governments.
In separate remarks, Lt. Governor Nena and Mr. George conveyed their sincere gratitude for the trust and confidence placed in them by the Government of the FSM and the Government of Kosrae State. Both affirmed their readiness to uphold that trust and pledged to carry out their responsibilities with integrity, professionalism, and a steadfast commitment to serving the people of the Federated States of Micronesia.
The Simina-Palik Administration extends its continued appreciation to the Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia for its support and for confirming the appointments.
