CANBERRA, Australia — March 25, 2026 — His Excellency Wesley W. Simina, President of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Sam Mostyn, Governor-General of Australia, at Government House, marking a key engagement during his official high-level visit to Australia.
President Simina was accompanied by First Lady Madam Ancelly Simina; the Honorable Esmond B. Moses, Speaker of the 24th FSM Congress, and Mrs. Aileen G. Moses; the Honorable Ricky F. Cantero, Acting Secretary of Foreign Affairs; and Her Excellency Jane Chigiyal, Ambassador of the Federated States of Micronesia to Australia.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong and close partnership between the Federated States of Micronesia and Australia, grounded in shared values and a common vision for a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Pacific region. Discussions highlighted regional cooperation, sustainable development, climate resilience, and the importance of strengthening people-to-people connections.
During the meeting, Her Excellency Mostyn expressed appreciation for President Simina’s leadership on climate change, recognizing the Federated States of Micronesia’s role in elevating the voices of small island developing states on the global stage. She acknowledged his continued advocacy for urgent and meaningful climate action and reaffirmed Australia’s commitment to working in partnership with the FSM to advance resilience and sustainable solutions for Pacific communities.
