Chief Executive Council Concludes Fourth Meeting in Kosrae

KOSRAE, FSM — February 19, 2026 — The Fourth Meeting of the Chief Executive Council (CEC) of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) formally concluded in Kosrae State following productive deliberations among national and state leadership on priority issues affecting the nation.

The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Wesley W. Simina, President of the Federated States of Micronesia, and brought together the Governors of Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, and Kosrae. The Council provided a platform for collaborative dialogue, coordination, and decision-making on matters of shared national importance.

Over the course of the meeting, Council members engaged in substantive discussions on economic development, infrastructure implementation, health and education priorities, climate resilience, fiscal coordination, and ongoing Compact-related matters. The dialogue reflected a shared commitment to strengthening intergovernmental cooperation and advancing the nation’s long-term strategic objectives.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Chief Executive Council formally adopted and endorsed a Joint Communiqué and accompanying resolutions covering priority national matters such as the FSM Census, the operationalization of the National Seabed Resources Authority (NSRA), preparations for the upcoming FSM Games, and other areas of shared concern among the National and State Governments.

The Council reaffirmed its collective commitment to unity, transparency, and collaborative governance in addressing both immediate challenges and long-term development goals. Leaders emphasized that continued coordination through the CEC remains vital to ensuring effective implementation of national policies and equitable progress across all states.

On behalf of the Simina–Palik Administration, Vice President Palik expressed appreciation to the Government and people of Kosrae for hosting the Fourth CEC Meeting and acknowledged the active participation and constructive contributions of all Governors and their delegations.

The Chief Executive Council remains a central mechanism for strengthening partnership between the National and State Governments and ensuring that national development efforts are aligned, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of the people of the FSM.
