PALIKIR, Pohnpei – May 26, 2026 – His Excellency Wesley W. Simina officially received the Letter of Credence from Ambassador Emma Hickey of Ireland during a formal Presentation of Credentials ceremony held in Palikir.
The presentation formally accredits Ambassador Hickey as the representative of the Republic of Ireland to the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) and reflects the continued diplomatic relations between the two nations. The FSM and Ireland established diplomatic relations on October 27, 2004, and have since continued engagement through areas of shared interest and cooperation in regional and international forums.
During the ceremony, President Simina welcomed Ambassador Hickey and reaffirmed the FSM Government’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and friendly relations with Ireland. Ambassador Hickey conveyed greetings on behalf of the Government of Ireland and expressed her commitment to further enhancing bilateral engagement between the two countries.
